A couple weeks ago Joan Calcutt received a request from Act For Peace to sign up for the ‘Ration Challenge’, as the situation in refugee camps is more challenging than ever before, given the threat of catching the Covid virus in the overcrowded situations, the lack of hygienic facilities and food and medicine shortages etc.
As Joan has done for a few years, she registered to represent the church’s JIM group in the Challenge. Her family and friends in both Ocean Grove UC and Barwon Heads UC have been very supportive in the past, raising around $2000 for the work of Act for Peace each year, so she hopes this year will be no different.
Anyone who would like to contribute to Joan’s effort can do so online by clicking on the following link: https://actforpeace.rationchallenge.org.au/joan-calcutt
…But wait! OH! Her target has been raised!
Joan now has begun the challenge, which takes place September 13-19, so act now to sponsor Joan and cheer her on. (Click here to see a progress report from Joan at the halfway point)
NEWS FLASH! Joan reached her target AGAIN!!
The money raised will help bring emergency food, hygiene kits and life-saving support to the people that need it most. Let’s show we really are ‘in this together’.
