‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing’ don’t worry about a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Rise up this mornin’
Smiled with the risin’ sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Saying’, (this is my message to you)
Smiled with the risin’ sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Saying’, (this is my message to you)
Singing’ don’t worry ’bout a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing’ don’t worry (don’t worry) ’bout a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing’ don’t worry (don’t worry) ’bout a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Rise up this mornin’
Smiled with the risin’ sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Sayin’, this is my message to you
Smiled with the risin’ sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Sayin’, this is my message to you
Singin’ don’t worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh
Every little thing gonna be alright, don’t worry
Singin’ don’t worry about a thing, I won’t worry
“‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Every little thing gonna be alright, don’t worry
Singin’ don’t worry about a thing, I won’t worry
“‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singin’ don’t worry about a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright, I won’t worry
Singin’, don’t worry about a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singin’ don’t worry about a thing, oh no
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright, I won’t worry
Singin’, don’t worry about a thing
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singin’ don’t worry about a thing, oh no
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright

COMMENTS ON THE PREVIOUS SELECTION, “All You Zombies”
Zombies are in the category of the ‘undead’; animated, but not alive. Thus, a zombie is an appropriate symbol for someone who hasn’t yet found the secret of life. Perhaps Jesus would not use quite such harsh language most of the time, but the gospels sometimes do portray him as frustrated, even angry, that people, especially his disciples, fail to understand his message. Compared to the life Jesus had discovered, most people are but zombies, moving around, making all the motions of going through life, but they are not really living as Jesus’ message of the Kingdom promised. So Jesus sings, ‘”All you zombies, show your faces,” i.e. come out and live with me.’
