30. You’ll Never Walk Alone sung by Gerry and the Pacemakers

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone

COMMENTS ON PREVIOUS SELECTION – “The Only Way Out”

This song is the song Jesus could have sung in the wilderness after his baptism.  This is where he is offered three temptations – three doors, if you like – to his future.  In the process of struggling with the question of what to do with the life-changing experience he has just had, he recognises that, after 30 years of searching for a direction in his life, he has found the way out of his confusion, and the only way is God’s way.
