“Such Is Love” by Peter, Paul and Mary (Click here to listen)
After all I’ve come to know me, and the ways of my heart,
And the young man that I once was would have torn our love apart.
When you’re young and always looking at the far side of the hill
You might miss the fairest flower standing by you very still.
Love, love, love, love, love, such is love, wondrous love
Love, love, love, love, love, such is love, wondrous love
Love is never, like the stillness, love is always passing by
Love must flow like a river; try to hold love back and love will die
If I’d known as a young man what I know of love today|
I’d have lain down in that river and let it wash my soul away.

Love, love, love, love, love,
such is love, wondrous love
Love, love, love, love, love,
such is love, wondrous love
Love, love, love, love, love,
such is love, wondrous love
Love, love, love, love, love,
such is love, wondrous love
Now I know love.

COMMENTS ON PREVIOUS SELECTION – “Crackerbox Palace”
George Harrison said, “I wrote those lyrics because…the world is very serious and at times a very sad place. But at the same time it’s such a joke. It’s all a Crackerbox Palace.”
I think Jesus may have felt similarly; that we all have a ‘life’ in the world (a.k.a. the Crackerbox Palace), but it is something of a joke. Real life (see “eternal” in “Words of the Word” on this website) is found in the realm of God. However, the world will lie to you (“You know our love is true”) and act to keep you from finding this real life, and will threaten to “deport” you if you don’t “do what the rest do.”
